Jimmy Buffett / Jackson Browne

Tonight we're going to see Jimmy Buffett and Jacksone Brown at Comerica Park. We have Don and Lisa and an MRI to thank for this. Should be a great show, as I'm a fan of everyone listed in this post... possibly even of MRI's, though, I'm uncertain about my true feelings. We're off to St Somewhere.

Truckcast #63: Basement Project I

Sunday. Sunday. Sunday.

So, I spent most of the day and evening in the basement working on the bedrooms. All the rigid foam board has been glued to the walls and laid on the floor. The plywood has been laid down in bedroom one and mostly done in bedroom two. It's not secured yet... I was having a tough time with the concrete screws snapping and I decided to find a better solution. I'll do that tomorrow after I finish cutting the last three pieces of flooring. There's a bunch of pictures in the Basement gallery of what I've done. Zachary helped me bring the rigid foam boards downstairs, we carried all 12-pieces at one time. All the heavy-ass 3/4 plywood... yeah, carried all that down by myself while he played video games. Good to have help. Sometimes I'd like to beat him, just for being a.... I'd like to beat him. Let's leave it at that.   That's a Different Strokes reference for all you young'uns. It's a TV show from 1978-1986. I watched that shit. I rock.

Saturday Night's All Right For...

... insert your thing at the end of that title. For me, it's all right for doing some webpage maintenance and texting with old buddies. I know, exciting, right! I may regret it, but I added the Truckcast to Google Feedburner . The basement is coming along nicely. Should have the walls and floor insulated tomorrow morning and the new floor down and the walls up by the end of the day. Fingers crossed. Wish me luck. And just because I haven't given you one today... Here's your Saturday inspirational image...

The New Rampant

I think I mentioned that I was using DesignCrowd to source a new logo for myself and my assorted projects. The site claimed that I would get 55+ designs. I received 49 designs. In fairness to the site, I did cut the design competition short by four days. Because I found one that I liked a lot. Daniel at StudioD put together the winning design for me. I asked for something less traditional and with the type of style found in the new Detroit Lions logo. He came up with a design and with some back and forth suggestions this is what I ended up with: It's a pretty large departure from my old design, but I think it's cool as hell. I can't wait to get the files and start planning on some cool projects involving the new logo.

Basement Project Update

I'm up and going on the basement project... or at least on the two new bedrooms. Have a load of rigid foam board, plywood, lumber, and drywall set to be delivered tomorrow between 12-6, so I'm crankin' on getting the floor cleared. Thanks to Joel for canceling our project this weekend. I've added a photo album to the gallery titled, Basement, in case you want to follow along with this particular project. Logo Design Contest

So I'm tired of trying to make do with the logo that I have. It's just about right. But it's so damn sloppy and unprofessional looking. I giving the website a try. I'm going to put it out there and see if I can't get someone with real skills to take a crack at it. Just so as you remember this is the best I have right now. Hopefully, I'll have better soon... Also, I pretty much got stuck running around Grand Rapids today. So no Truckcast for you. My apologies. I can't guaranty anything tomorrow either, looking like it may be more of the same. So I'll leave you with something a little bit like this... And, because I'm feeling particularly generous today, I'll give you a little bit from my unused audio files. I call this one: Broken Truckcast . It started life as a Truckcast on 5/10, but I lost the last 25 minutes of audio for some reason that I can't explain. Now it's broken. Enjoy.
